Figured I should actually introduce myself since I run the place.
I'm the person behind TalkativeTurtles. I've been into tech for a long time - started with building PCs in my early teens, moved into Linux and networking in secondary school, and ended up working in software professionally. These days I work mostly on backend systems and infrastructure.
Outside of computers: I play guitar badly, read a lot (mostly sci-fi and history), and spend probably too much time tinkering with electronics projects that never quite get finished.
I built this forum because I wanted a place that wasn't Reddit - smaller community, actual conversations, no engagement algorithms deciding what you see. The goal is a genuine tech community where people actually help each other.
If you have ideas for the forum, run into issues, or just want to say hello - reply here or drop me a message. Glad to have you around.
