Title: Building a developer portfolio that actually gets you interviews
Linear Mode
#2
Great writeup. The point about tutorial projects is something I wish I'd read earlier - I spent months building variations of the same to-do app and wondered why nothing was landing.

The README tip in particular. I went back and rewrote the READMEs on my two main projects last month, added screenshots and a proper "why I built this" section. Noticeably more profile visits since.

One thing I'd add: if you're job hunting actively, tailor which projects you pin to match the role. A backend-heavy role gets your backend projects pinned, not your random CSS experiments from two years ago.
