What are you building right now? - Zero Two - 06-21-2026
Simple thread to share what you are currently working on - side projects, work stuff, learning experiments, anything goes.
I'll start: I've been putting together a small home lab dashboard that aggregates service health, temperature sensors, and network stats into one page. Nothing fancy, just a Go backend with server-sent events pushing updates to a vanilla JS frontend. Keeping it dependency-light on purpose.
What about you? What's on your workbench right now?

Update on my current build: still working on the same CLI tool I mentioned before but it's grown significantly. What started as a simple script to automate a deployment task has turned into something with proper subcommands, config file support, and a plugin system I didn't plan for but that emerged naturally from the requirements.
Using Go for it - the single binary deployment is exactly right for a tool that needs to run in CI environments where you don't want to manage Python versions or npm installs. Cross-compiling for Linux, Mac, and Windows from one codebase with GOOS=linux go build is genuinely one of Go's killer features.
Also started a side project over the weekend: a Raycast extension for a workflow I repeat constantly. TypeScript + their SDK makes it surprisingly fast to build. If it turns out useful I'll share it here.

Side project update: launched a small tool I've been working on for the past few weeks. It watches a directory of markdown files and auto-generates a static site with no configuration. No themes to configure, no plugins to install, just drop markdown in and get a fast site out.
Built it in Go. The motivation was that every static site generator I tried was either too opinionated about structure or had too many moving parts for a simple blog. This one has about 400 lines of code and does exactly what I need.
Not planning to make it a public project - too many competitors in this space - but it's been a good exercise in writing Go that's actually used daily rather than just learned.

Just finished a side project - a browser extension that tracks how much time you spend reading vs skimming articles. Really eye-opening results so far! What stack are you all using these days?
